President – Bro. Robert Cole, ‘87

Robert L. Cole, Jr. was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.  He graduated from Crenshaw High School.  He played right cornerback for the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers and pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Rho Chapter.

Robert is notably remembered for his back-flip performance in Spike Lee's School Daze, earning him a place in cinematic history. During his time at Morehouse, he developed a close personal and professional relationship with the late Congressman John Lewis.

Former California State Director of African American Outreach for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign

From 2006 to 2025 he served as Los Angeles County Commissioner on the Los Angeles County Economy & Efficiency Commission.  In this position he served to improve government policy, management and operations by the County of Los Angeles in furtherance of the county’s always growing budget of over $40 Billion.

Today, Robert works as a consultant in governmental relations and public affairs and is a multiple award-winning screen writer.

Vice President - Bro. Marcus Smith, ‘02

  • Senior Director, Talent Recruitment and Negotiations at ESPN (May 2022 – Present): Leading talent recruitment, negotiations, and strategic planning in Los Angeles.

  • Senior Director, Talent Relations at FOX Sports (Jun 2017 – Apr 2022): Managed on-air talent recruitment, development, long-range planning, and guest booking in Los Angeles.

  • Talent Producer for NFL Media Group (NFL Network & NFL.com) at National Football League (Oct 2007 – May 2017): Oversaw talent appearances and production requirements for major events such as Super Bowl, Thursday Night Football, Senior Bowl, Combine, College Pro Days, and NFL Draft in Culver City.


Treasurer - Bro. Garrett Howard, ‘12

  • Actor with film and television credits, including the role of Dorian Smith in the independent feature Deficiency Notice and appearances in Bosch Legacy on Amazon Prime

  • Marketing Analyst at Delta Air Lines (starting senior year of college in 2012 until 2014).

  • Credited for his roles in Bosch: Legacy (2022), Bust Down (2022) and Mixed-ish (2019).


Financial Secretary - Bro. Brian Baytop, ‘00

Career: Software Engineer

Professional Experience:

  • Owner of Tops Nexus LLC and co-founder of The Institute of Trauma and Economic Justice (ITEJ.org), providing management consulting and data analytics to Black-led non-profits and small businesses nationwide.

  • Earned a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) degree from San Diego State University in 2004.

  • Started management consulting career in January 2005 with Kaiser Health Plan and Hospital Foundation’s Southern California region.

  • In 2011, selected by the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management to standardize best practices across Southern California Kaiser Permanente medical centers.

  • Graduated from Morehouse Medical School in 1986 and completed residency in Family Medicine and Geriatrics between 1989 and 1990.

  • Began medical practice in Lynwood and has served South Los Angeles as a Family Doctor for over 35 years.

  • Held leadership roles including Department Chair of Family Medicine at St. Francis Hospital and served as a member of both the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors.

  • Served on the Board of Directors for Charles R. Drew University.

  • Continues in his solo practice medicine while acting as Medical Director for various nursing facilities and hospice and palliative care organizations.
